Who we are?

Hi, I'm Danielle

ADHD Mentor, Reiki Master, Social Worker and founder of Internally Free.

I believe many of us spend years surviving rather than truly living.

We adapt. We people-please. We carry responsibilities that were never ours to hold. We push through exhaustion, ignore our needs and become disconnected from who we really are beneath the expectations, roles and pressures of everyday life.

Whether through ADHD, burnout, life experiences, emotional overwhelm or spiritual growth, there often comes a point where something within us asks for more.

More understanding. More self-acceptance. More alignment with who we truly are. That is the heart of Internally Free.

What I Believe

I don't believe people need fixing. I believe understanding creates change. When we begin to understand ourselves more deeply, our patterns, our experiences, our strengths, our struggles and the stories we've carried, we create space for compassion, healing and growth.

My work is about helping people reconnect with themselves. To understand their minds. To honour their emotions. To listen to their bodies. To trust their inner wisdom. Ultimately, to live in a way that feels more authentic and aligned with who they truly are.

My Journey

For over 20 years, I have worked alongside children, young people and families, including six years in leadership roles.

Throughout my career, I have supported people through some of life's most challenging experiences and witnessed the impact that understanding, connection and compassionate support can have on wellbeing.

Alongside my professional experience, my own journey has included navigating burnout, people-pleasing, long Covid and significant periods of personal growth and self-discovery.

These experiences taught me the importance of slowing down, listening inward and creating space for what truly needs attention. They also deepened my understanding that healing is not about becoming someone different. It is about returning to yourself

ADHD

My work within neurodevelopmental assessment pathways introduced me to the world of ADHD and Autism from a professional perspective.

At the same time, supporting a close family member through a late adult ADHD diagnosis brought a much more personal understanding. That experience transformed my own relationships, creating greater understanding, empathy and connection. By witnessing their journey of understanding their ADHD, accepting support and making sense of experiences that had never fully made sense before, reinforced something I continue to see in my work today:

Self-understanding can be life-changing. It can reduce self-blame. Improve relationships. Increase self-compassion and help us stop fighting against ourselves.

Today, I support adults to explore ADHD, understand their unique patterns, navigate diagnosis and build lives that work with their brains rather than against them.

Why Internally Free?

Internally Free was born from a growing realisation throughout my career that many people needed support beyond the systems available to them.

People wanted somewhere they could bring their whole selves without judgement. A space that recognised the connection between mind, body, emotions, life experiences and personal growth.

Internally Free became that space.

A place where practical understanding and soul-led support can exist side by side.

How I Work

My approach is trauma-aware, nervous system informed and deeply person-led.

I blend professional knowledge, lived experience, ADHD mentoring, Reiki, grounding practices, meditation and reflective exploration to support each person as an individual.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach.

Whether we are exploring ADHD, navigating burnout, reconnecting with your voice, understanding relationship patterns or creating space for healing, my role is to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity and honesty.

Together we create space to understand what has shaped you, reconnect with your strengths and move towards a life that feels more aligned with who you are.

Community & Giving Back

Giving back has always been an important part of my journey.

I founded STEPS2TRUST, a volunteer-led initiative supporting asylum seekers to heal, rebuild and thrive.

This work reflects values that remain at the heart of everything I do today: compassion, connection, social justice and creating spaces where people feel seen, heard and valued.

A Final Thought

The people I work with are often carrying more than anyone realises. Responsibilities. Expectations. Self-doubt. Stories that no longer fit.

My hope is that through our work together, you begin to understand yourself more deeply, accept yourself more fully and reconnect with the person you have always been beneath the noise.

Because when we stop fighting who we are, we create the freedom to become who we were always meant to be.
